Every Family has its secrets. The Maddock Family has more than most…
SOON - There will be no secrets… SOON - There will be no Family
THE KNOT is a fast moving, hard-hitting play that pulls no punches. Tense drama and black humour fuse to present a powerful story of one family's refusal to confront the knot of secrecy that is slowly choking it to death…leading to the explosive confrontation that will finally unravel The Knot.
‘THE KNOT’ began life in 1995 and since then has toured hundreds of venues Nationwide provoking an amazing response from all who have experienced it - Child Protection Teams, Schools, Colleges, Women's Refuge Groups.
An extremely gripping, original play focusing on the issues of family relationships, domestic violence and alcohol abuse, it tells the story of one family's disintegration under the burden of domestic violence.
Acclaimed as a stunning and moving exploration of these issues, ‘THE KNOT’ is an experience that offers a unique opportunity to explore the interpersonal dynamics involved in these complex issues.
The play lasts 1hr and is accompanied by a discussion workshop directly after the performance.
Magistrates, Victim Support and public audiences. One word has resounded again and again throughout the tour; "Excellent!"
THE KNOT had, what may well be, its last performance in March 2006. Although we still receive requests for this award-winning drama, we lack the funding needed to take on a new actor or to film the play. Therefore 'The Knot' is not currently available. If you would like to discuss funding this play or any of our work please contact Claire on 01772 731024 or email us
